Every dog is unique, and the ideal grooming schedule depends on their breed, coat type, lifestyle, and the style you'd like to maintain. For most hair-growing breeds such as Poodles, Doodles, Bichons, and Shih Tzus, we recommend grooming every 6–8 weeks to maintain a healthy coat and prevent matting. We'll happily recommend a schedule that best suits your dog's individual needs.
Most appointments take 2–4 hours depending on your dog's breed, size, coat condition, temperament, and the services being provided. We intentionally schedule our appointments so they are never rushed. We'll contact you as soon as your dog is ready for pickup.
Every dog has different needs, and we tailor each visit accordingly. Our salon has been thoughtfully designed with multiple rooms, allowing us to separate dogs whenever needed. Some dogs are the happiest relaxing in the salon environment, while others appreciate having their own quiet space. We also have comfortable kennels available for dogs who prefer some independence, need a break during their appointment, or when it's the safest option. Our goal is always to create a calm environment where every dog feels safe, comfortable, and at home.
When it's appropriate, yes. We believe positive, supervised social interactions can be a wonderful part of your dog's visit. Every dog is different, so we always consider each dog's personality, comfort level, age, and behaviour before allowing any interaction. Dogs are never forced to socialize, and introductions are always carefully supervised. If your dog prefers their own space, we'll happily accommodate their individual needs.
That's completely okay. Many dogs are unsure of grooming, especially puppies or those visiting a new salon. We take the time to build trust, work at your dog's pace whenever possible, and create positive experiences that help them become more comfortable over time.
We'll always do our best to achieve the look you'd like while putting your dog's comfort first. If matting is severe, brushing it out can be painful and stressful. In these situations, the safest and kindest option is often to clip the coat shorter. We'll always discuss your dog's coat condition with you before making any decisions.
Usually, no. Double-coated breeds rely on their coat to regulate body temperature and protect their skin. Instead of shaving, we recommend a thorough bath, blowout, brush-out, and de-shedding treatment to remove loose undercoat while maintaining a healthy coat.
We recommend introducing puppies to grooming shortly after they've received their initial vaccinations and your veterinarian has cleared them to visit. Our Puppy Introduction appointments are designed to create positive first experiences while gently introducing puppies to the grooming process.
We carefully select professional grooming products that support healthy skin and coats while being gentle on your dog's individual needs. Our boutique also features thoughtfully curated products that we've researched, trust, and use with our own dog, Mylo.
To help dogs settle into the grooming process, we ask that owners return once the appointment is complete. Many dogs are more relaxed when they aren't distracted by seeing their favourite person nearby. We'll keep you updated throughout the appointment and contact you as soon as your dog is ready.
